Showing up in – heaven forbid – casual attire is an even worse statement. Not only will you look unfashionable,Event Dresses you’ll stick out like a sore, underdressed thumb at the office as well. Here’s how to get out of this clothing catastrophe.

Quick Fashion Fixes

First things first: look for a clean shirt. ‘Clean’ here doesn’t necessarily mean pristine and just-from-the-cleaners clean. In fact, any shirt isn’t malodorous or visibly stained will do for this emergency. Don’t stop with your closet; look through all your previous overnight bags and gym duffels in case you’ve left a couple there by accident. As soon as you’ve found one, hang it on a good hanger to give it time to settle and un-wrinkle with gravity.

If you’ve finished with your morning Cheerios and the shirt is still wrinkly, it’s time to move to Step 2. Grab your steam iron or clothes steamer,Cocktail Dresses  fill ‘er up with water and steam down those wrinkles. No steamer? No problem! Hang your shirt up in the bathroom and then take a nice, long hot shower. The steam from your bath should be sufficient to solve the most stubborn wrinkles in the shirt.

Iron vs. Wrinkle

Does the shirt still look more wrinkled than workplace-ready? Dig up your clothes iron and ironing board. If you don’t have an ironing board, any large, flat and heat-resistant surface will do. Just make sure to put a layer of cloth (like a couple of towels) in there to make your job easier and to improve results. A steam iron is preferred in this case because it removes wrinkles faster, ED Hardy  but a plain flat iron will suffice.

Unbutton the shirt and then lay it flat on your ironing surface. Start ironing from the collar and then gradually make your way down to the back, as that’s the largest area you’ll have to fix. Once you’ve smoothed things down at the back, iron the sides of the shirt before ironing the front. When ironing, always make sure that no two layers are over each other. Ironing two layers will just worsen the previously small creases on both.

Desperate Measures

There are also certain solutions available in the supermarket that could give you a quick fix out of your dilemma. Look in the laundry aisles for fabric softeners in spray bottles; there should be at least a couple from known laundry care brands like Downy. You just spray that solution on to your shirt, give the garment a few tugs to smooth it out and then let it dry. In most cases, solutions like these can make a big difference wrinkle-wise.

If all else fails, you could just go to work with your still-wrinkled shirt and then just wear a jacket over it. Take the jacket off around midday to afternoon when everyone else’s shirts and office outfits have likely earned some wrinkles as well. It might not be the neatest thing to look at, but your shirt will simply look standard issue instead of super inappropriate.
